ITA Regional Rankings: December 7

Released on December 7 are the updated ITA Regional Rankings. On the men's side, a funny surprise is Matthias Wellerman of Mississippi edging out Travis Helgeson of Georgia from the Southeast Region. Also, take a look at the Central Region where there is total foreign dominance. I am not surprised however, the Central Region is a tough sell for American tennis players. The West Region looks extremely tough with all the Pac-10 schools as well as Pepperdine.



On the women's side, not too many surprises. Georgia Tech dominated their South Region with Amanda McDowell edging out Kristi Miller (picture) for the top spot. A few years ago, Florida would have dominated the South region, but now Megan Alexander is the top Gator at #7.
